Motorcycle & Powersports News and AIMExpo are partnering to bring the most engaging and actionable education sessions yet to the Disruptive Thinking stage. Key subjects will include training and talent; finance and insurance; parts, garments, and accessories; and marketing.

The Disruptive Thinking education series, free for all AIMExpo attendees, will run all three days on the show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The AIMExpo Keynote Speakers:
David Savlowitz and Michael Ponton
Unleashing “Blue Ocean” Success

David Savlowitz and Michael Ponton of Competitive Analytics will deliver the keynote address, “Navigating New Horizons: Unleashing Success with Blue Ocean Strategy.” You will learn how to find sustainable, long-term growth in uncovering untapped consumers, beginning at 5:30 pm on the Disruptive Thinking stage.

“The transformative power of blue ocean strategy is essential for achieving unparalleled success,” Savlowitz said. “Currently, many industries and businesses operate in ‘red oceans,’ where merciless competition turns the ocean blood red. But ‘blue oceans’ have vast, uncharted possibilities that can lead to profits and opportunities for all. In a rapidly evolving economic and business landscape, the need for innovation and differentiation has never been more crucial. AIMExpo brings competitors and colleagues together under one roof at one time with a singular goal of continuous improvement to move the industry forward – we do this together.”

New products are what drive our industry. NPC will have some of the latest products on display as well as a new product presentation stage where participating brands can show and talk about their latest products with our New Product Host.

All dealers and media are encouraged to attend the presentations scheduled for every day of the show. This is the schedule for today, the first of three days of new product presentations.

The AIMExpo Industry Party powered by Turn 14 Distribution is an excellent forum for friends old and new after a busy day on the show floor. Powersports is a hard-working industry and you deserve a night to celebrate. Peers, brands, media, and influencers from across the powersports landscape come together to celebrate the industry we all love. Today from 6 to 8 pm.

Our industry thrives on competition and is built on having a good time – the SUPER73 Industry E-Bike Throwdown is going to be the perfect combination for all-out fun. Dealers, exhibitors, media, and industry leaders will all be racing for industry-wide bragging rights in the final race.

The Throwdown will take place on the AIMExpo indoor e-bike track starting at 7 pm tonight. It will consist of four classes: Dealers, Exhibitors, Media, and a surprise class. Each class will race in brackets with the top rider in each race advancing to the next round, ultimately competing in a winner-take-all Throwdown. To help ensure an equal playing field, the e-bikes will be provided. Competitors will need to wear appropriate gear, including helmets.

All MIC members are invited to join us at noon in the MIC Business Center for today’s free Lunch & Learn. It’s located on the lower level of the South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth 6007.

Key MIC staff and association partners will share information on important powersports industry topics and talk about valuable benefits that can lead to stronger sales—and frequently these are benefits members may not even know about. Complimentary lunch will be served.

Today will feature Scott Schloegel, MIC senior vice president in the Government Relations Office. Schloegel will outline recent legislative victories for the industry – especially ones that have protected your business – and current outreach being done to raise the profile of our industry with elected officials. He’ll also highlight governmental and regulatory headwinds you need to know about, including issues with Consumer Product Safety Commission regulations and public land access. And he’ll emphasize the need for members to be in Washington for the MIC Capitol Hill Fly-In, scheduled for April 29-30.

The MIC’s Scott Schloegel and Michigan Senator Gary Peters.

The MIC battles legislation and regulation that can be harmful to the entire industry, and helps connect members with their own state politicians so they can better understand their business challenges.

Schloegel will be joined by Tim Calhoun, president of sales and marketing, Rawrr, Inc., MIC board member, and MIC Aftermarket Committee chair, speaking about the importance of member involvement and feedback for the MIC staff.

“In the past three years, the MIC has made huge strides with data,” Calhoun said – and at the Lunch & Learn he’ll stress how members can better harness this information, and how the MIC has made it easier to understand. “The MIC is delivering more data and made it simpler for our members to use.”

Also on-hand at the MIC Business Center is Buckner Nesheim, director of MIC Research and Statistics. For much of AIMExpo, Nesheim and his team will be there to answer questions and help turn data that every MIC member has access to into useful information – whether they’re a small shop or an OEM. There’s tremendous value in the MIC’s cross-industry, cross-segment information, not just on sales, but on registration of nearly every make and type of powersports product. This is proprietary and granular. Plus, Nesheim can teach members about important trends in the industry.

“Motorcycle sales are a leading indicator of consumer sentiment, and we have data on the aftermarket as well as on various segments,” Nesheim said. “My team and I can field questions about the MIC’s 2024 Motorcycle Statistical Annual, too, and how its findings can apply to any powersports business.”

The e-bike market is growing fast. This additional category within powersports is set to grow from $49.7 billion in 2022 to $80.6 billion by 2027. To help support this growth and integration into the powersports industry, AIMExpo will have two indoor e-bike demo tracks: one for Turn 14 Distribution brands and one for additional participating companies. Demos open 9 am to 5 pm.

The custom segment of motorcycling is more popular than ever and an influential category within the industry. The 2 Wheel Custom Showcase will highlight 10 of the country’s best custom builders showing off their latest custom builds curated by Kevin Dunworth of Dunworth Machines. Brian Buttera, David Chang, Larry Curik, Tim Dixon, Kacey Elkins, Oliver Jones, Roy Martin, Mark Rabideau, Anthony Robinson, and Paul Wideman will showcase their talents and diversity of style. Open 9 am to 5 pm.

The 4 Wheel Showcase is dedicated to showing the progression of ATVs and side-by-sides with curated units provided by the industry’s leading manufacturers. As this category grows, more and more OEMs and aftermarket companies are building vehicles and parts to cater to four-wheel customers. Here you’ll find unique vehicles built to satisfy the ever evolving four-wheel customer. Open 9 am to 5 pm.
