Join Us at AIMExpo to Celebrate Malcolm Smith’s Legacy
The Motorcycle Industry Council is honored to celebrate the legacy of Malcolm Smith, one of the greatest motorcycle racers in history who had a tremendous impact on our industry, at AIMExpo in February with a tribute and charity auction.
Malcolm’s Adventure will be on the AIMExpo show floor, Booth #1135. This is where the industry can gather and reminisce over their favorite Malcolm stories and memories. Partnering with his son, Alexander Smith, the American Motorcyclist Association, Dealernews, producer and friend Todd Huffman, and many of Malcolm’s close friends and extended industry family, Malcolm’s Adventure will pay tribute to him through memorabilia, motorcycles, movies, and more. “This past weekend, the ‘Sunday Tribute to Malcolm’ brought together thousands of people to celebrate the legacy of my dad; and that doesn’t begin to come close to the number of lives he has touched and made an impact on,” said Smith, General Manager, Malcolm Smith Motorsports, and Malcolm’s youngest son. “Malcolm’s Adventure at AIMExpo will allow us to connect and share with many others who couldn’t join us last weekend, and I’m looking forward to celebrating my dad’s legacy with the motorcycling community and hearing all the stories.”
The MIC is also collaborating with National Powersport Auctions with a live auction of Malcolm Smith memorabilia at the AIMExpo Starting Line on Thursday, February 6, at 5 pm. All proceeds will benefit the Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation, an organization committed to funding education for children at El Oasis Orphanage, Valle Trinidad, Baja Norte in Mexico.
The auction is in need of Malcolm Smith memorabilia. Items such as autographed Malcolm racing apparel or gear (jerseys, jackets, helmets, etc.), limited edition signed posters or photos, autographed motorcycle parts (gas tanks, plastics), and other one-of-a-kind memorabilia are being sought to bring in bids that will allow for a significant contribution to the foundation, which has been supporting the youth in Baja for over 35 years.
If you are interested in donating an item or items, please contact Lindsey Scheltema at lscheltema@mic.org (949-517-7511) with the AIMExpo team to coordinate additional details.
